THE COLLEGE PROGRAM \ WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

• We rely on the expertise of approximately 15,000 year-round and seasonal employees to deliver the Vail Resorts mission. Our participants come from across the country and all over the world.

Employee Housing

  • While using the housing options offered through Vail Resorts is not required, living in the mountains is. All College Program employees are eligible to use High Altitude Employee Housing but are also allowed to seek housing elsewhere as long as it is located within the same county as the resort you are working at for the season.

Events and Activities

  • Outside of the resort itself are endless fun possibilities. From skiing or sledding in the winter, to mountain biking, horseback riding, and rafting at certain resorts in the summer, all of our resorts have great activities for you to participate in depending on the season.

  • As part of the Vail Resorts community, you’ll meet people from all over the world and cultivate memories that last a lifetime. We’ve got a campus feel here and it’s great to know you can always rely on your friends and co-workers to help you out on the job or join you for a cup of coffee.

    • The Business of Vail
      The Business of Vail seminar offers students the opportunity to have their voices heard from top of the ladder employees. This seminar really opens your eyes to all that is involved with the daily activities of Vail Resorts. Topics for discussion include: Understanding Vail Resorts’ business model; Recognizing the competitive landscape and how Vail Resorts stays on top of their market; Exploring the organizational structure of Vail Resorts; Learning the purpose of each function within the Vail Resorts structure; Valuing how your job at Vail Resorts contributes to the bottom line; Discussing how corporate culture drives business results; and Conversations with Vail Resorts Leadership.

    • Leadership Skills for Students For all College Program participants, this seminar offers leadership training that you can’t find in the classroom. The hardest part of leadership is developing it in real world situations, hopefully this seminar can help with that. Topics include: Leadership: The Vail Resorts Way; Discovering the Authentic Leader Within You: Becoming Self-Aware; and Conversations with Executive Speakers.

    • Career Development for Students In order to have a well-rounded experience, we encourage all students to participate in this seminar. Networking is essential in business, and this seminar will go in depth into that, among other subjects. Topics of discussions include: Mapping out how to begin your job search; Exploring the power of networking; Understanding the components of writing a strong resume; Practicing, preparing and delivering great interviews; Discussing what to do when the job is offered; Planning for a strong start to any new job by knowing what to do in the first 90 days.
